Boccia |
|
Boccia was a game designed initially for those with cerebral palsy, but can be played by anyone. The aim of the game is for you and your opponent to get six of your balls as close to the white target ball as possible. The sport is similar to UK green bowls or French 'boules' with the additional rule that everyone has to be sitting down to play. Why is it suitable for those with a disability? Boccia is a non-contact, target driven sport which relies on skill and subtlety, rather than size, strength or speed. It is because of this that it is equally suited to those with or without a disability. Our sessions are coached and include variations on the main game, aimed to provide variety and improve skills. |
